Every day, thousands of people who live in Boone County fight for their lives. Fortunately, they are not alone. Boone County Cancer Society makes a tremendous difference in those lives. Along with our volunteers, we will do all we can to help improve the lives of local cancer patients and their families.

Financial Assistance

To be eligible for financial assistance through the Boone County Cancer Society, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Diagnosed with cancer and be in active treatment
  • Live in Boone County

ALL patients who meet these 2 requirements and return the completed application to the BCCS office automatically qualify for $1,000 financial assistance to be used on CANCER RELATED BILLS – We do not reimburse patients for bills they have already paid.

Examples of cancer related bills:

  • Bills from chemotherapy, radiation, drug therapy, Oncology visits, and any lab work ordered from your oncologist or primary care physician pertaining to your cancer diagnosis. 
  • Hospital bills from any imaging procedure related to the patients’ cancer (MRIs, CTs, PET, Xray, Ultrasound scans)
  • Bills from Kroger and/or Cowan Drugs/Parkside Pharmacy in Lebanon, IN for cancer related prescriptions.
  • Bills for wigs, skin lotions, head/hair care
  • Transportation to and from treatment through Boone County Senior Services

Patients may also qualify for $500 extensions for every year they are in active treatment, up to $2,500 based on their household size and income. Extension guidelines can be found on the BCCS Patient Application.
